This two day course will review the latest evidence in upper limb rehabilitation techniques for clients who have some recovery of movement following neurological damage. This course will look at evidence based interventions, measuring recovery, and how to translate treatment protocols into everyday practice. Course Aims/Objectives
Review current evidence regarding neuroplasticity
Gain an understanding of transcranial magnetic stimulatino and cortical reorganisation
Critically appraise upper limb measurement tools
Understand and practice how to use functional strength training, motor imagery/mental practice and mirror box techniques
Have an introduction to the clinical applications of function electrical stimulation (FES) and SaeboFlex
Explore current evidence and crtically evaluate protocols for constraint induced movement therapy (CIMT)
